Brave New Workshop presents:  Finding strength in vulnerability: How to reframe scrutiny into opportunity

Program Description:

Humans are hard-wired to scan for threats every second, and situations which involve others judging us typically register in our brains as serious threats, even though it is never a matter of survival. So, feeling apprehensive or anxious about your next sales conversation, client meeting or evaluation is absolutely normal and part of being human. What we do have to master though is how to reframe the stress, so that we can perform to the best of our ability and ultimately achieve our goals.

Margi Simmons, the Director of Applied Improvisation at the Brave New Workshop, will walk you through three steps to thriving in situations where you are in the spotlight – how to prepare, how to ground yourself during the experience and what to do afterwards. Margi will help you shift your  mindset and practice key techniques so that you can be your best, most authentic self the next time you are pitching your idea, selling your product/service or  receiving feedback.

Margi’s presentation will feature group discussions, hands on exercises, stories from her life as a performer and facilitator and much laughter.
