Open WeMN Board Positions

WeMN board members are volunteers and contribute to the organization in their area of expertise. Members are nominated to serve by other board members or members of the organization. WeMN board members are voted in by the current WeMN Board of Directors.

Social Media Director

    • Attend all meetings of the Board of Directors 
    • Develop and implement social media content strategy and initiatives
    • Coordinate with Marketing Director to establish social messaging for WeMN monthly events
    • Actively promote events on social
    • Post 2-3x/week on various social platforms (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn)
    • Monitor social accounts daily
    • Actively engage in community management by commenting, likes and sharing
    • Share monthly analytics and insights with board

Tools/Platforms:

  • Google docs for reporting
  • Social scheduler (such as Hootsuite or Facebook Creator Studio, or a free version of any scheduler) for posting to all three accounts
  • Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn)

Marketing Director

    • Attend all meetings of the Board of Directors
    • Develop and implement marketing initiatives for WeMN
    • Establish overall marketing strategy and messaging for WEMN monthly events
    • Lead content and event updates to website
    • Create events in Eventbrite
    • Create and schedule all event emails
    • Participate in sub-committees to determine messaging/marketing strategy for yearly peer mentoring circles and bi-annual conference
    • Manage creation/deployment of monthly newsletter
    • Ensure consistency of branding throughout all printed collateral and web
    • Coordinate with other Membership, Programming and Social Media Directors on specific initiatives as needed 
    • Act as marketing resource for Board members

  • Eventbrite (event registration)
  • Constant Contact (sending email marketing)
  • Adobe Illustrator (for event graphics)
  • Podia (member management/marketing)
  • GoDaddy (WeMN email)
  • Freedcamp (PM)
  • Drive (event marketing collateral and photos)

Program and Event Director

  • Help secure event venues with the help of other Board member(s)
  • Research, vet and schedule potential monthly speakers
  • Coordinate event needs with speaker
  • Coordinate and support other board members to ensure events are a success
  • Coordinate post-event follow-up and payment with speaker
  • Provide programming updates and potential speakers during monthly board meeting
  • Assist with bi-annual conference planning and participate in planning of Peer Mentoring Circles

Membership Engagement Director

  • Lead response to new member inquiries and acquisitions

  • Onboard new members

  • Lead efforts to retain members through active engagement

  • Assist with social media engagement and community management

  • Assist with managing organization email inquiries

  • Proactively lead member renewal /lapsed member outreach

  • Manage membership database

  • Share the benefits of membership at organization events

  • Present membership report to Board Members at monthly meetings

  • Assist Programming and Marketing Directors with post event follow-up communication

  • Lead member outreach to gather information for Member Spotlights
    Complete annual membership survey (in fall)
